Meet the 2019 Magento Masters: Mentors

It’s difficult to believe, but it’s already time for the fourth year of Magento Masters, a program to recognize top contributors in our ecosystem. Yesterday, we shared this year’s Movers with you. Today we reveal the seven Magento Masters selected as Mentors. 

Mentors are top contributors to the Magento Community who are highly active in educating others and developing resources for them. They have proven expertise in building successful Magento implementations. 

I am delighted to introduce you to our Mentors for the 2019 Magento Masters program: 

Damián Culotta 

Senior Magento Engineer, Mediotype
Argentina 

Damian has been working with Magento since 2008. He actively participates in the community sharing his experiences through his blog and as a member of Mugar, co-organizing meetups and hackathons. He is a member of the Mediotype team, working as Senior Magento Developer on migrations from Magento 1 to Magento 2.

Damian was selected as a Magento Master for 2019 based on his 2018 contributions through organizing the Buenos Aires location for the Distributed Magento Contribution Day, Meet Magento Argentina Contribution Day, Magento Meetup Mar del Plata, Magento Meetup Buenos Aires, Magento Meetup Tandil, Magento Meetup Córdoba, and Magento Meetup Rosario as well as educating the Spanish community through his blog and his consistent dedication to helping others on the Magento Forums while serving as a Moderator.

Vishal Gelani

Lead Magento Developer & Solution Specialist, Aureate Labs
India

Vishal has been working with the Magento since his college days and coding is his passion. He is the Magento enthusiast guy and always loves to train and guide colleagues about the Magento 2. He is enjoying contributions in the Magento 2 Core and DevDocs. With the experience of 100+ projects and handling clients around the globe, he has a stunning knowledge of the Magento frontend and backend, and expert of Magento solutions. Vishal was selected as a Magento Master for 2019 based on his extensive 2018 contributions on GitHub as well as his consistent dedication to helping others on the Magento Forums.

Gabriel Guarino 

Senior Magento Engineer, Shero Commerce
Argentina 

Gabriel is a Senior Magento Engineer at Shero Commerce. He has been working as web developer for the last 14 years and working with Magento for almost a decade. He started working with Magento 2 as soon as it was released and shared his personal journey mastering Magento 2 as an example to help others in the community. He also joined the Magento Association Task Force last year to work with Magento, SmithBucklin and other 6 members from the Magento Community to help establish the Magento Association.

Gabriel was selected as a Magento Master for 2019 based on his 2018 contributions through consistent dedication to helping others on the Magento Forums, where he volunteers as a Moderator, and educating the community through speaking engagements, as well as helping to shape the Magento Association by serving on the Magento Association Task Force.

Guido Jansen

Founder & Community Manager, Dutchento
The Netherlands

Guido is a cognitive psychologist and works as a usability and conversion optimization manager and trainer. He helps eCommerce companies and teams grow their revenue by doing user research, validating ideas and running online experiments. Guido founded the Dutch Magento community platform Dutchento.org and is one of the initiators of the Meet Magento event series. He helped many other organizers kickstart their conferences and you can find him on stage at Magento events around the world.

Guido was selected as a Magento Master for 2019 based on his 2018 contributions organizing Meet Magento Netherlands, Distributed Magento Contribution Day in Rotterdam and Magento User Group Utrecht as well as well as co-hosting the Dutchento Podcast and helping to shape the Magento Association by serving on the Magento Association Task Force.

Rakesh Jesadiya

Sr. Magento Developer/Architect, Zilker Technology 
India

Rakesh has around six years of experience in Magento. He currently works as Sr. Magento Developer (Architecture) at Zilker Technology, where his main role is eCommerce site development and design architecture of an e-commerce flow. He has contributed to the Magento community since the Magento 2 release. Rakesh gives kudos to Krish Technolabs for his being a Master again. In his spare time, he writes about Magento 2.

Rakesh was selected as a Magento Master for 2019 based on his 2018 GitHub contributions, consistent dedication to helping others on the Magento Forums and Magento StackExchange, as well as moderating the Magento Forums, and educating the community about Magento 2 on his blog.

Joseph Maxwell

CEO, SwiftOtter, Inc.
United States

Joseph is passionate about helping people with Magento—merchants, and developers. He started working with Magento about eight years ago—and it was a rough road to learn it. Joseph has now written hundreds of pages of study material for Magento developers so they can come up to speed much faster than it was for him. He has seen that skilled Magento developers make for happy Magento merchants. Merchants benefit from speedier development and increased revenues from better-performing sites. When the day is done, Joseph is happiest spending time with his wife and two children.

Joseph was selected as a Magento Master for 2019 based on his 2018 contributions on GitHub as well as through serving on the Magento U Certification Advisory Board, organizing the Kansas City Magento Meetup, and guiding many through their Magento 2 certification exams through the creation of extensive certification study guides.

Andreas von Studnitz

Co-Founder, integer_net
Germany

Andreas is a Magento developer since 2008 and co-founder of integer_net, a Magento agency in Aachen, Germany. He still focusses on development in his day-to-day work, giving Magento 2 development trainings now and then as well as doing consulting. As an active member of the Magento community in and around Germany, he loves travelling and visiting Magento events with the goal to meet interesting people and share some knowledge. Andreas enjoys spending time with his family, playing games, cycling and reading.

Andreas was selected as a Magento Master for 2019 based on his 2018 contributions on GitHub, organizing Magento Stammtisch Aachen, educating the community through writing on the integer_net blog, and extensive speaking engagements on dependency injection and code quality with Magento 2.
